The Night Before CHRISTmas
'Twas the night before Jesus came and all though the house
not one of us was stirring not even the mouse.
All the relatives visited, presents opened, prayers said,
We nestled now quietly, snuggled in bed.
Church had been extra special that night
Satan quite disgruntled gave up the fight
for we thought not of santa to come the next day
But waited for Jesus, who said, "I AM the Way."
Then somewhere from far away a trumpet call
and we left the house one and all
Up past the roof and the stratosphere
to be with Jesus, at last we were near.
And what to our wondering eyes did appear
But loved ones who'd passed on over the years
the angles rejoiced over the homecoming
With mighty voices, they began to sing.
We wept tears of joy each and everyone
We came into the presents of Gods begotten Son
Rewards were given for work well done
and love was shown for everyone.
When we chose Jesus, God's only begotten Son.
Ask for forgiveness, then we are made one.
We await the moment when our work on earth is done,
Then in the twinkling of an eye
Our bodies will change, when we're called on high.
(If you feel so inclined, please pass this on.)
