ESCAPE

Most of my life I have done the best I can to escape the world around me. Some people have attempted to tell me that I do not look at things the way others do. Bless their hearts, little have they known that I have not wanted to see the things that they do. To me the world has always been a rather harsh cruel place that I have had to contend with, not that the world has been bad to me, but rather that I have always been happier when I am inventing my own more perfect worlds to live in.

Before I learned to read I lived in a world of day dreams. After I learned to read, I lived in the books I read. I felt I had control by reading what I chose. I could pick any book, find a character I could relate to and disappear into their world for a time. I never cared much for TV because right in the middle of an interesting show, poof they would throw reality at me (adds, news bits). Along came the VCR, this was better in that I could watch Gone With the Wind (or whatever) from start to finish, and push pause if there was an intrusion I had to deal with. Along came Nintendo. I found the role playing games rather interesting I could control what the people did, where they went, what they bought, but ultimately the end was always the same. You do away with the bad guy and restore peace or whatever to the world. In a sense I have always been the god of my own little world, and usually resented it when others tried to intrude.

Now I have a computer. I can put what ever I want into it and then tell it what I want done with the information I have put in. I am told that I have a baby computer and that there are better ones out there. Alas I am content. For I have discovered the true bad guy, I have discovered that I am not God. And that I will never bring peace to the world. I find that my mind very seldom drifts off into daydreams anymore, where I feel the need to control my part of the world. For in reality, I realize I have very little or no control over the world. Realizing this I have found a great sense of peace.

We are not in control. We are finding out more and more all the time how little control we as individuals have in our world. We have become dependent on those around us. Upon our government to teach our children. Upon the fuel companies to heat our homes. On the electric company to run our TV, our computer, our appliances. On the telephone and post office to keep us in touch with those, we love. On our churches to tell us about God. We in a way have allowed the world system to move us about like little pawns in some sort of worldly chess game.

Now they are talking about Virtual reality. With this device one will be able to go anywhere one chooses, with any one they choose. With just a thought, and they will be there. Wow! With this device I could really play god, and let the government, the schools, the world really take over, while I'm off in my own little world. And what would I care, I haven't cared in the past, I have always had my devices to make the world what I wanted. Thank the Lord I woke up !!!

So you aren't me. So, you have never escaped into your own world. So you have always seen the world for what it is, I have no idea what that is, because I am not you. However, I assume that you have conquered your everyday problems. Dealt with the things that have needed to be dealt with and gone on your way. Most likely, you have felt that you have controlled the world that you see, or at least the things you could control. How many times have we run into situations where we have no control? When was the last time you vetoed a bill that you didn't like? When was the last time you stood up and said "I want my kid to read a Bible in school if they feel like it."? When was the last time you went against the flow? It seems to be much easier to just sit back and hope someone else puts their nose into those kind of things so that we don't have to get told to leave things alone.

Each time I have come out of my daydreams to have a look around at what is going on in the world I have seen that people "feel" that they have gained more control. That they "feel" they are more in charge of the world around them. But after looking around a bit I have realized that they had actually only lost more control. Depending now on some new devise to bring them more into the way of the world.

Amazingly the last time I checked out the world I noticed that people were asking, "What is going on around here?" "What will become of our children?" "Our country?" I knew an elderly lady once who asked these same questions some years ago. At the time I paid no attention. The world was moving ahead. The people would survive, they always have. That was life. I wonder sometimes how many of us realize that as we live day to day the world is moving in leaps and bounds. How many have really noticed that we do not care so much for our security? Weapons beyond our comprehension, Social security constantly on the line. Ask yourself, if our Government does not care about these matters, what will be next?

Now we add a sense of searching for I have noticed on TV many searching. Exactly what do they think they are searching for? I doubt that they even know, or else they would have found it by now. They haven't found peace. They call for peace; they got out of the Vietnam War. They stopped Hitler. Sure they work on it. However, they haven't and will never truly achieve true world peace. They really think they are working on peace now in the middle east but listening to a Jewish program last week (now its been a few weeks) I heard that things in reality are worse than ever. (by the way, know why the peace talks are called off? Did you know that Arafat was yelling to his people "Death to Jerusalem" our news media has neglected to report this part of the news to us)?

There will never be true PEACE ON EARTH until Jesus comes and rules for 1000 years. Don't kid yourself. This is a fact. (Rev. 20:6) If they haven't managed to understand peace after all these years, how can we even think they will figure it out now? They want us to think they are in control. We want to think we are in control. But in reality, we have less control than we have ever had. I have not just discovered this because I decided to look at the world; I have always known it.

Now that I really understand it all, I am like WOW! People are searching, searching for God, and instead they think they are gaining control, they think they are becoming one with the world, unity and peace and harmony. How can they even begin to come up with such ideas? Because they have truly been blinded by the god of this worlds systems (Satan). If they could only grasp the real meaning of what they are searching for. It is right in the Bible when God breathed his Spirit into us in Genesis 2:7 we realize as human beings, not animals, that there is a God. People have more or less rejected God so now they have to put it upon themselves to make peace and harmony, a oneness with the world, and the universe. These concepts are being taught to our children in school. Since the 1960's, the New Age Cult has been moving into our western culture. Taking scriptures out of context. Saying the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21) Of course, it is the Holy Spirit is within us, who believe in Jesus. But they are saying we in essence are gods. We are not God; there is only one God. They have realized they have a spirit that is aware of God, and since they don't understand Him, they are turning themselves into god. Others are too busy raising their children to really take a look at the world. Others are using whatever devices they have to cope and deal with everyday problems. The church has gone crazy. They are everywhere, but how many in them truly know who God is? Our God is a loving God, Who will allow no one into heaven who has not sought Him out. Why? Once we are in Heaven do we want to go through this again because someone thinks they "will be like" God, (Isaiah 14:13) And our true God has to contend with another Satan for another seven or so thousand years. Come on! Wake up! See the world! This is not Gods plan. We are Gods plan, those of us who believe on his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We have always been involved in a spiritual warfare, but the boundaries are being drawn. There is becoming a deep gulf between the true people of God, and the people of the world. Now I understand the verse that says, Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt. 7:14)

There is only one escape. By trusting in our Lord Jesus Christ. Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth? Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 1Thess. 4:16,17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Rev. 4:1,2 After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. John 14:2,3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. In addition, if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.

So I do not look at things like others do. But perhaps because of this I have always known that there is a God. Thanks to my wonderful parents, I have always known who God is. I have always known there is a better place than the world we now live in. I have always known that I will always be. And I have always known there is more to life than just dealing with the things we can see and touch. So you don't see it, so you think I am off my rocker, That's ok, I understand. But ask yourself one thing---------
